ROAD COURSE TEST & TUNE RULES
- Pit rules:
- Parking in designated areas only.
- Fuel - No spillage on asphalt please - watch for open cans or any safety hazards. If you spill fuel oil or antifreeze please put absorbent on immediately and then see our Track Manager or Security to help clean up.
- Trash containers are provided - please use them.
- Courtesies - Be polite and courteous at all times.
- Speed limits - 5 mph in pits, 10 mph on access roads. Only exception is emergency vehicles.
- Camping in designated areas only and in self contained RV's.
- Facility rules speed limit - Speed limit on facility roads is 10 MPH on access roads and 5 MPH or less in pit areas. Please be aware of your surroundings at all times.
- Tech Rules - Cars:
There will be a basic safety tech for test & tune or open track days.
- Tires are not worn out. Must be in safe condition.
- All vehicles must have overflow container canister for radiator.
- Vehicles cannot have any signs of oil, transmission, or seals leakage.
- Tape headlight and tail lights
- Seat belts not frayed or worn out.
- Helmets must be DOT or better.
- 4. Tech Rules - Bikes:
- No mirrors (must be removed or taped)
- Tape plastic oil plug & filter
- Tires must be in good condition
- Turn signals must be removed or taped
- Rear brake light must be removed or taped
- Brakes must be in good condition and working properly
- Chain properly adjusted
- Bike must be lead free
- Back protection
- Proper attire, Full leathers (Two Piece or Aero Stitch suit)
- Helmet DOT approve (no tear offs), gloves & boots
- Fire extinguishers in pits for refueling
- Water in the radiator is highly recommended
Track procedures:
- On ramp access by direction of official only. Do not drive on track until motioned.
- Stop - line up at ramp.
- Proceed only when flagman indicates.
- No passing unless car in front motions you to do so.
- Stay off shoulder areas.
- Do not exceed ability - this is only Test & Tune, not racing.
- If yellow flag comes out, slow down and watch for situation and caution.
- When given checkered flag, it is your last lap. Cool down to off ramp.
- If you see any debris on track, let flagman know immediately.
- You are testing your vehicle, not competitive driving. No passing in an unsafe manner.
At the direction of the track official, class or driving skills may group different classes of cars.
Bikes will be grouped by class or level of ability and size.
Due to insurance and liability issues, no convertible cars will be allowed on track without a roll bar or cage.
Effective January 1, 2005 a valid Competition License will be required for anyone driving on the Road Course. A Competition License from NASCAR, USAC, SPORTSCAR, SCCA, ASA, FIA, NASA, SVRA, VARA, INEX, HMSA, CFRA, CSRG, PCA or POC will be accepted. Vehicles must conform to NASA Rules and Regulations or SCCA Pro Racing Regulations. If you do not possess a Competition License, a TRACK PERMIT may be obtained at the Reno-Fernley Raceway though The Next Level Driving School, by appointment only.
