Peloton  (PTON) – Get Report, the connected-fitness company that’s been a darling stock during the coronavirus pandemic, rose Tuesday as it said it formed a health-and-wellness advisory council.

The council “will work closely with the company as it continues to look at how it can positively impact the physical, mental and emotional well-being of its community of members,” the company said.

“Peloton will collaborate with the council, which includes five renowned doctors, researchers and other medical professionals from the fields of cardiovascular medicine, cardiopulmonary exercise, neurology and neuroscience, and draw on their knowledge and expertise to help inform product and content development, community-focused and social impact initiatives, research projects and more.”

Peloton shares recently traded at $82.43, up 7.5%. They have nearly tripled year to date.

Planet Fitness obtains ‘essential business’ classification, reopens ahead of other gyms | News

After obtaining certification as essential businesses, Planet Fitness franchises in Kern County have been allowed to open for indoor workouts, even as other gyms are restricted to outdoor activity only.

Kern County Public Health Services classified the local fitness centers as an “essential healthcare/public health service” after the gym chain joined the Medical Fitness Association, a North Carolina-based nonprofit that seeks to integrate medical practices into fitness facilities for better health outcomes.

“Our approach is we take anybody that comes in the door, whether you’re an absolute elite athlete or a grandma,” said association President Bob Boone. “Our goal is to optimize your well-being no matter what state you might be in.”

Members of the association are encouraged to follow procedures that transform gyms into part of a community’s overall health care network. Although fitness centers do not need to have all of the association’s guidelines in place to join,

Parents play crucial role in helping children, teens cope with pandemic stress

Find ways to stay connected and busy as a family. Even though they can’t see their friends like normal, there’s still plenty families can do together to enjoy themselves. Board games, picnicking and hiking are a few of Shefner’s family-time suggestions. Now is a good time, she added, to think about what activities you can do as the weather gets colder to stay engaged with each other and with external family and friends. Seeking refuge outdoors won’t be as easy in a few months.

Limit screen time, especially in the evenings. Adults have trouble disconnecting, so don’t assume children can police their own device use. The constant barrage of input from screens is mentally taxing for children, according to Shefner, not to mention the emotional impact of news and social media. “Along with the pandemic, so many other things are happening right now and there are a lot

National Nutrition Week: What are Acai berries, how to make acai bowls and can acai berries fight Covid-19 – health

Acai (pronounced ah-sigh-ee) berries are one of the healthiest berry varieties in the world along with blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and others. They are about 1-inch (2.5-cm) round that grow on acai palms in the Amazon rainforests. Their dark purple skin and yellow flesh cover a large seed, while the pits are similar to those of apricots and olives.

Technically acai berries are drupes but are still considered a part of the berry family. They are high in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals that are necessary for the body and are also known to aid weight loss, reduce bad cholesterol, and promote a healthy heart.

Acai berries are usually soaked to soften their outer skin and mashed to form a dark purple paste. The shelf-life of fresh Acai berries is a small window, hence these are largely exported in puréed or powder form to add to meals, smoothies and more.

However, one
