The people want Prada. And, thanks to the label’s reputation for creating thoughtful clothes for the thinking man, the people have wanted Prada for a very long time. So upon the release of another Timecapsule drop – a highly limited collection that debuts a new piece once a month on each first Thursday – the grail factor is set to reach fever pitch. July’s edition may just be the best one yet.

In the same vein as May’s Le Mans-fuelled boxy shirt of wonder, the latest Prada Timecapsule is another shirt that’ll make you look broader and stronger and more Tom Of Finlander than you actually are – something of a signature for the Italian marque, who was largely responsible for the Cuban collar’s revival during the S/S ’16 shows. There are no petrolhead sentiments this time, though. Instead, this month’s Timecapsule takes point from the peloton with an exclusive print said to be inspired by the cycling world. That means contrasting orange and black stripes against a wearable backdrop of white.

Details elsewhere are sparing. Prada branding sits above a single chest pocket, with mother-of-pearl buttons to the front. And on the back, just in case you’d forgotten what month it was, July is stamped in the same retrofuturistic font that, again, has become something of a repeat prescription for Prada. And, by proxy, us too.

The shirt will be made available from 1pm GMT time for just 24 hours. So if you want in, the time is now to assemble a Minority Report-like Glastonbury online terminal. Serious business, this collector thing – and it’s not difficult to see why.

Available from prada.com, priced £735
